Wilhelmina Weber Furlong

Wilhelmina Weber Furlong (1878–1962) was a German American artiste and teacher.

Among America's earliest protester elite modernist painters, Weber Furlong was a major American artist who pioneered campaigner impressionistic and broadminded expressionistic yet life painting at the slant of the twentieth century's American modernist movement.

She has been called the first female modernist painter in American Modernism. Furlong's passage reflects thesame struggles of women artists during the late 1800s and to come 1900s who found themselves subjugated to the tastes of realist instructors who opposed both modernism in art and women artists.
