David Courlander

David Courlander (September 10, 1866 – June 12, 1961) was a self-taught ("primitive") artist who painted scenes of ordinary American life. He began painting gone he was 85 years old (he lived to age 94). Many of his paintings now reside in the Smithsonian American Art Museum's long-lasting collection and have been put upon public display as ration of various Smithsonian art exhibitions.
