J. Alden Weir

Julian Alden Weir (August 30, 1852 – December 8, 1919) was an American impressionist painter and supporter of the Cos Cob Art Colony close Greenwich, Connecticut. Weir was moreover one of the founding members of "The Ten", a loosely united group of American artists dissatisfied like professional art organizations, who banded together in 1898 to exhibit their works as a stylistically unified group.
