Philip McCracken

Philip "Phil" McCracken (November 14, 1928 – June 6, 2021) was an American visual artist, who worked mainly in sculpture. Born in Bellingham, Washington, he graduated from the University of Washington in 1953, having interrupted his studies to support as an army reservist for the Korean War. He after that studied for a time below Henry Moore in England. He lived and made art upon Guemes Island from 1955 to the fade away of his dynamism in 2021.

His produce an effect contains much birds imagery, is generally representational, and displays a strong focus upon visual form.

His decree has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Museum of Northwest Art. His art can also be seen as portion of Washington's State Art Collection at My Public Art Portal.
